Corus offers 3 and 12-month placements for undergraduates, which will provide opportunities for you to learn, develop and gain experience in your chosen field. Corus has opportunities for undergraduates to undertake a yearlong industrial placement or a 12-week summer placement in the following function areas:

• Research Development & Technology
• Process control & Automation
• Product & Market Development
• Purchasing
• Commercial
• Logistics
• Finance
• Human Resources
• IT

The main training involves on-the- job training with immediate involvement in significant projects and daily tasks. The development of soft skills is a key objective of the Corus placement programme, a real requirement to perform well in the business. An element of responsibility within our placements is key in developing these skills along with teamwork, planning and organising and communication skills. You will work in an open environment with guidance from your manager to assess performance and to help in your development. Dependant on the function you are in, additional training courses will also be offered to help in your placement.

In summary, you will be able to experience working in a large company, in your chosen area of expertise, and then take the knowledge back to university, invaluable for your final year's study.

For engineering and technical functions, a relevant degree is required, but for all other functions we accept any degree subject. You should be expecting to achieve at least a 2:2 in your degree, preferably a 2.1 or first class grade.
