We offer exciting opportunities to gain practical 'hands on experience' within a global and professional organisation. As part of an engineering team at our one of our mills in Flint, Northfleet, Barrow or Barton, you will be assigned your own individual and specific objectives. You will be involved in a variety of exciting projects liaising with people from different fields of engineering. You will be given the opportunity to learn new skills and find new ways of looking at and solving problems in a number of areas from day to day maintenance, site specific projects to organising your own trials and documenting outcomes.

As part of a mill engineering team you will work with:

  • High speed rotating machinery (including pressure vessels)
  • Complex paper converting processes
  • Packaging machinery
  • Process equipment
  • Plant utility equipment (water. steam, air, vacuum)

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with appropriate safety legislation (product/process/equipment)
  • Attend regular team meetings to discuss any safety/plant/production issues raised from previous shift.
  • Assist/lead regular spares reviews
  • Scheduling ongoing maintenance to optimise mill downtimes
  • Providing support for the development, co-ordination and evaluation of trials to implement new or modified equipment
  • Development and promotion of systems information and performance database to share best practice
  • Providing support to various members of your immediate team.
  • Participation in equipment start-ups

Skills and Qualifications Required
We are looking for adaptable, team orientated people with the ability to demonstrate good leadership potential, strong numerical and analytical skills and ideally fluent in a second European language. You should have good 'A' level grades and currently be studying a mechanical engineering degree and on course for a 2.1 or first. Previous work experience would be beneficial. You must be eligible to work in the UK.
