From day one you will have responsibility for a project intended to have a significant effect on the business. You'll also get a chance to experience many different aspects of life within Sainsbury's. There will be plenty of support to help you learn the ropes and deliver your business critical project. Every placement ends with a performance review and if you're particularly successful, a place on graduate training scheme or even a direct entry role with Sainsbury's.
What will you be doing?
Buying Summer Placements are available in our Food teams, based in London, or at our expanding General Merchandise team based in Coventry. Which ever placement you join, you will gain a broad insight into the different areas of buying including Product Range Reviews, Category Plans, Product launches, or Product Sourcing. By the end of the eight weeks you will have an understanding of what goes on behind the scenes to deliver an ever improving quality shopping experience for our customers.
Entry requirements
You may be studying towards a degree in any discipline, and ultimately expect to graduate with a 2.1 or above.
Location
Depending on which placement you join, you may be based at our Support Centres in London or Coventry, one of our distribution centres, or one of our stores across the country.
What is it like?
"The buying placement was a great way to gain an insight into the dynamic world of Sainsbury's and I developed crucial business skills. I completed a project looking at how to simplify product ranges and improve availability in our Convenience stores"
